We believe in the benefits of live theatre and its profound impact on all young people, their families, and the greater community at large. To this end we have devoted select performances to patrons with special needs and their families so that they too
may share in the magical experience of exceptional live theatre (see box).

We are pleased to work with exceptional special needs organizations like The Arc of Baltimore, The Chimes, Kennedy Krieger Institute, Itineris, and Pathfinders for Autism.

Our Sensory Friendly performances are intended to make live theatre accessible to children and adults on the autism spectrum as well as their families and friends.  The shows are performed in a friendly, supportive environment for an audience diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder (asd) or other sensitivity issues.

Adjustments to the production include the elimination of any jarring sounds or music.  Dramatic shifts in lighting are reduced and there are no blackouts during the performance.  Audience members are encouraged to get up

and dance, walk, shout and sing!

In the theatre lobby there is a quiet areas for those patrons who need to leave their seats during the performance.

Our community outreach commitment

A Day of Smiles

          Can Make

      A Difference

  in a Child's Life

At Charm City Players we strongly believe that our commitment to the community extends beyond our front door.  Our strong partnership with community organizations allows us to reach out to children and families who may not otherwise have access
to the benefits of truly enchanting theatre. Community group tickets are offered at specially reduced rates, and we offer a substantial number of complimentary tickets to non-profits who service the special needs of children and families throughout the Baltimore area.

We are thrilled to work with outstanding organizations like The Casey Cares Foundation which allows us to bring uplifting and thoughtful programs and activities

to critically ill children and their families during their time of need.
